Last Minute Dilemma at Dinnertime? Review and Giveaway!

28 Mar

Have you experienced a last-minute dilemma at dinnertime? You know, those nights when you’ve got to make something out of nothing…in no time.  We have experienced those nights more times then we would like to admit.  There is one night that quickly comes to mind, since we only have one car in our family, so me getting to the store is limited. On this particular night my husband decided that he was going to make something with the left over black beans and sausage, that I did not want to eat again.  He ran by the store on his way home from work to pick up a few items.  He comes home with a big bag of cilantro and who knows what else he picked up.  The only thing I remember is that the whole meal tasted only of cilantro.  He had accidentally put way too much of it.  I did manage to eat all mine, because I was so hungry.  He, on the other hand, decided peanut butter sandwich was better.

Here is the answer to your last minute dinner dilemmas:

Seasoned Selects are a new line of stuffed chicken breast entrees. They’re made with juicy, white meat chicken stuffed with savory combinations of meat, cheese and vegetables. Unlike the traditional Barber Stuffed Breast, however, this new line is not breaded, but is seasoned with a blend of herbs and spices, and is lower in calories, fat, and carbs. Seasoned Selects are a great dinner option for those nights when you need drama-free dinner prep. Just throw these entrees in the oven and get going on a quick salad or side dish. Barber Foods Seasoned Selects are a quick and unexpected dinner option that everyone in the family will love.

My thoughts: I have to say that Spinach Florentine was delicious.  It is the perfect portion.  It was moist and seasoned just right. The best thing it was can have a meal on the table in about 35 minutes.  You can check out all the wonderful selections of Seasoned Selects on their website here. I highly recommend you pick up a few of these to have on hand for quick dinners for your family.  We not only tried the Spinach Florentine,  but we also tried one of their wonderful sauce recipes found here.  I decide that I love cheese and wanted to make one of their quick sauces. I made Quick Spiced Cheese Sauce. It was definitely quick and easy to make.  I made baked potatoes and broccoli and poured the cheese sauce on top. Yum!

Viola!

and of course this was to be first and I did it last but it is a last minute drama!! I was having 2 other couples over for dinner at the last minute I remembered that I forgot to get cheese for the lasagna ran to the store and picked up the cheese. I got home and made the salad forgot the salad dressing ran back to the store. Set the table and I forgot napkins this time I didn’t run to the store I used plain white paper towels and stenciled a B on each one for our last name and what seemed like a horrible night turned into a night of compliments. dwaynesgirl78@msn.com

My dinner drama was last night…I forgot all about dinner because we were playing outside. Then about 4:00 p.m. my kids said they were hungry. Thankfully I had some frozen cooked chicken, frozen carrots and some leftover bread sticks. Voila…dinner was served in 30 minutes.

I have last minute dinner drama when I work 5pm to 9pm shifts and don’t get home until 945pm. Then my son will say to me whats for dinner Mom? And I just look at him and say “Really?” Look at the time and You are 20, couldn’t you make something for yourself since you have been home? These would be perfect for him to make himself! Problem solved.

I get home from a long day at work on Wednesday, and have to rush out 1 hr later for bowling with the ladies, no time for cooking but I am STARVING!

my last minute dinner drama happens when I don’t plan ahead for dinner. I’ll be doing my regular “mommy” stuff, with errands, work, play, etc, and then all of a sudden realize it’s after 5, and my husband will be home shortly, and kids are starving. The drama is that I usually make a pbj & fruit for kids, and then send hubby for take out after kids are in bed. not a good habit

Mine happened the other night when making supper at my mom’s house and she said we don’t have any dessert. I whipped up a cake out of Martha Stewardt mag and all was fine till realized she didn’t print how long to bake. Well needed oven to broil the talpia so had to wait on cake while everyone arrived. My mom was having a melt down, but everyone was cool about it and it turned out really good. My mom even wanted me to tell her what I put on the fish. I am in therapy now after all that..LOL

Last week was pretty hectic. I ended up getting stuck in the Doctors office for almost three hours total. By the time I got home, my daughter was already getting ready to leave to go to her part time job after school. So, while she was in the shower, I quickly reheated some leftovers, but I would have much rather had some Season Selects in the freezer. The Spinach Florentine looks YUMMY! These look like easy and quick meals to prepare and no matter how pressed for time we can be, it seems like this can still be a fast and delicious meal that our family can sit down together and enjoy no matter what everyone’s schedule is that night.

Last minute dinner dramas happen at my house all the time. I never know how many people will be there, my son has a habit of inviting friends to stay and not telling me. I will usually make pasta when this happens because it goes a long way!
